About this project

This is an invitation to pay a little attention to the sometimes over-looked natural landscape we encounter throughout our daily pursuits, as a means, perhaps, to reconnect with the present moment.

In our cities, trees sometimes stand out as a landmarks of an area,  or as neighborhood characters; but most of them simply just blend into the dense and busy  urban fabric.

The photographs show the quiet space these unique botanic individuals inhabit and create, as well as explore the 'eye-level' awareness we have of them: their textured trunks, their scattered leaves on the pavement, their delicate shadows, and the way they soften the harsh edges of our man-made world.

'The wonder is that we can see those trees and not wonder more.'  Waldo Emerson.
